Mahiti starts work to indic enable eSpeak TTS
Mahiti is working on indian language enabling of eSpeak TTS engine
We are working towards enabling eSpeak TTS engine to work effiiciently with Indian languages.
Currently we are working on improving the TTS capabilities of following languages:
- Hindi
- Kannada
- Bengali
eSpeak uses a different synthesis method from other open source TTS engines, and sounds quite different. It's perhaps not as natural or "smooth", but I find the articulation clearer and easier to listen to for long periods.
